walkingshadow: nihilistic thumbs up!! (bring your A-game)
\o/

The fuckers at ESPN didn't see fit to air the men's semifinal matches live yesterday (something about basketball? and figure skating?), but I caught the first two sets of the Roddick-Hewitt match (taped), at 2:30 this morning. Federer had rolled over Canas, and Hewitt pulled it out over Roddick, so it was their final I meant to watch at 2:30 this afternoon. I was up until something like six in the morning though, and when I woke up it was after three. I fail at watching tennis! They're going to revoke my membership card. Luckily the men's final is a best-of-five match (unlike the rest of the tournament), so I got to watch two full sets of my boy taking Hewitt apart and strolling to VICTORY. The second Masters Series event is in Key Biscayne and starts tomorrow—I don't see that ESPN has plans to televise until the second week. Fuckers.

Other than watching tennis, I have done nothing with my weekend. Okay, I watched tennis and had a personal Sentinel fanfic renaissance. [livejournal.com profile] thefourthvine recced a Sentinel AU the other day where Jim's senses manifested when he was a child and he was diagnosed autistic; it's fabulous and in progress. That made me hanker after a re-read of Nuance, one of the best stories I've ever read in any fandom: first of all, it's long, a story to sink your teeth into; and it's got plot! and characterization! and banter! and canon! and innovation! (some of the coolest and most natural canon-supported innovation ever, for serious). Oh, and sex! Yes indeed. Then I started working my way through [livejournal.com profile] cesperanza's Nature Series. And that was pretty much my weekend.

In the recent past, The ARCHER has been updated with what I hear is the penultimate chapter, though there's an awful lot to wrap up. ) Also [livejournal.com profile] peter_and_fran has been updated! Twice since last we spoke! They said it would happen twice a week, and it has, bless their crazy hearts. This story makes me clap my hands with glee, like a seal on a sugar high about to be rewarded.

Language and the Internet is in at Barnes & Noble, so I should pick that up. And read it. The second take-home essay test in LAH is due on Thursday, joy of joys, and I should read for that too. I should, but [livejournal.com profile] throughadoor just pointed the way to another a Viggo/Orlando hooker AU with forty parts and counting and it might leave me hungover in the lobby of a Mexican cock-fighting establishment, but what can you do?
