i have no way to say and there is nothing i can do

because otherwise i'm going to have hysterics or a dissociative event, here is a short list of things that are awesome:

  1. HOLIDAY BONUSES \o/

  2. gift certificates to spas.

  3. SGA, supernatural, and yummy baked goods with [livejournal.com profile] silentfire this weekend.

  4. ice skating in centennial park with the cool kids from the office.

  5. dinner last night at two urban licks including a) oysters that MELTED IN MY MOUTH LSKDFJLA and b) the discovery of monty python's holy grail pale ale ("tempered over burning witches")1

  6. the video for herman düne's "i wish that i could see you soon":

1. me: *closes one eye and squints into bottle*
m.: what are you looking at?
me: the cast of monty python's in here.
m.: you should totally blog that.

I cringed for you at the last entry about your parents et al finding out about your MIT plans. [eep] That's the sort of thing you really do just want to spring on them when it's time to settle the funding issues, or maybe on your way to the airport to Massachusetts.

Seeing as how I can work NOTHING in my section of the paper because two particular designers I may or may not have mentioned before STILL can't order a page (even though they learned the new system along with every other designer who, why yes, DO have it together), I'll loiter here. Sorry about this afternoon - between the Wii, Winston, new troubles with my laptop, and The Lost Room (OMG SEE IT ASAP! Marathon session this weekend!) the sleeping in the house has been sporadic and beyond late. Like, half an hour late to work late.

There might be more to this than just surrounding circumstances. I'm sure you know the feeling that bubbles up occasionally where you feel stifled and trapped and bored and helpless and can't actually do anything about it? Yeah, that was yesterday. Sorry, I just really haven't been up for the phone, hence the barrage of e-mails.

funding issues need to be settled (at least tentatively) when you apply, and i don't mind telling them about it at some point before i need a ride to the airport—i just would like to present it as a fait accompli, or never mention it at all if nothing comes of it. also, i'm trying not to mention specifics on livejournal.

yeah, no, i have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. NONE.
