walkingshadow: nihilistic thumbs up!! (THE ARCHER)

mental instability has never impeded ability in bed

Oh my god. I was going to SLEEP. I was. And then there was CHAPTER 37 and all was lost.

ETA: I was dismayed at first because it seemed like the chapter was going to consist *entirely* of emotional development through bottoming (tm [livejournal.com profile] throughadoor), but it was only the first two-thirds that was the Urbanas exchanging letterman jackets and vows of undying love. Then there was Sean and Orlando with, shockingly, no bottoming at all, of the emotional development kind or otherwise. There was hugging though, and I'm a sucker for that (almost ruined by the "will you hold me?" "forever omg we are SOULMATES" of it all—but not quite). And then there was the tending of the wounds (because the couple that disinfects together, you know) and ACTUAL CONVERSATION, BE STILL MY HEART. In the end, none of that could beat this:

"Are you really the Archer?" Dominic asked suddenly, unable to control his sudden urge to inquire further into the matter.

Viggo stared at him steadily for several long seconds, the icy blue eyes paralysing Dominic and making squirm. "I am," Viggo finally said, his tone almost apologetic.

"Then why the hell don’t you ever know what’s going on?" Dominic asked angrily. "I mean, you have agents running wild every which way and people trying to kill us and—"

"I think . . . I think perhaps the situation is no longer within my grasp," Viggo said morosely. "The only option we have left open to us now is to turn tail and run."

Ahaha! So true! That is bloody marvelous strategy, Viggo. I can get behind that.

I was all 'aww... :scrollscrollscrollscroll: at the first part and then I did the flaily, flaily dance of joy at the end. I am fond of people calling Viggo out for being an idiot.

I reckon that Peter is the evil puppetmaster, pulling aaaaalll their strings. And what is Karl's deal, dammit.

I've got a really low tolerance for mushiness, but I do like the idea of them pairing off (though what that means for Viggo and Dom I'm not sure; and what about Dave? Do we need an Eighth Dwarf??)

Heh. I'm sure Viggo was in perfect control of things at the start, but we came in at a point where events had clearly overtaken him. Interesting to see what cutting and running will lead them to.

Peter! Ooh. I want to know what's up with Karl, and I want to know what else is up with DOM. *sits on edge of chair*
