Group Month, Day Two

Delayed Re-Entry by Lily

"I . . ." Lance shook his head. "Chris, it was . . ." He couldn't say, didn't want to hurt them any more than they'd been hurt, but then he didn't have to because Chris was right there, holding him tightly until the only thing he could do was give into instinct and burrow his face into the denim of Chris's well-worn jacket. He brought his arms up around Chris's waist, wanting and needing this anchor.

"Hell?" Chris asked, and Lance nodded jerkily, unable to trust his own speaking voice. "It was for us, too. We could hardly breathe." The next quiet statement gusted warmly over Lance's cheek, "So we learned to breathe for each other."

A GSF that's not a PWP. Not that it isn't hot, because it is, but it makes you wait for it, and it's not the focus of the story. Instead it's about the possibility of loss and the reaction to it that shifts and tightens their dynamic.

Yes! It really is wonderful, there are moments that make me ache but the overall feel to it is hopeful? Joyful, maybe, with them coming together.

Your icon is gorgeous, btw. I love the lights and the silohettes.

Exactly. It's horrifying and shuddery, but that's overshadowed by their reconnection and the love, love, love.

Thank you! Even though I didn't do more than crop a really beautiful photo, and don't really deserve any credit for it. :-p But I'm really fond of it too.
