For some odd reason I feel like revising all my poems. I'll need to do it before the end of the semester, to turn in as a final portfolio. Which will be based on "improvement and participation." Sounds good to me.

The POTW is inspired by the M.F.A. theses on display in the Fine Arts gallery, but I didn't find them particularly inspiring. Must make something up, then. Charles has given us three good poetry writing tips I should remember to use:

· freshness
· concreteness
· details

Last week's was surprisingly not bad. It was written in less than two hours; I'd gone to bed Tuesday night having already written a few lines on another subject entirely. I almost want them to workshop it. Well. Let's not completely lose our minds. But I do want to know what Charles thought of it. Mark Twain: "I can live for two months on a good compliment." And it really doesn't even have to be that good.
