early morning hijinx

This one's going out from UF's computer lab.

I've never been in here before, and I'm really impressed. There must be two hundred computers, and the speed is very, very fast. Faster than Ezekiel, though I love him dearly. The resolution is too big for my taste, but beggars? choosers? My printer has flipped out AGAIN, this time befuddling even my brother, who is always my first phone call when technology doesn't behave. Granted, he hasn't seen it yet, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now. But in the meantime, I must print both my linguistics homework (finished yesterday afternoon; I'm just as surprised as you are) and my anthropology study guide. Unless Michael pulls off a miracle, I'm in here again tomorrow to print the poem of the week. Or today if I finish it. Bwa ha ha! Even my fingers couldn't keep a straight face for that one. They know that to finish something you have to start it. Which I have not.

Jules: A thousand thank yous for making this, my first tentative foray into the CSE lab, such a painless one; your instructions were perfect.

I'm thinking breakfast now, linguistics at 11:45, then nap time. I don't even remember turning off my alarm at 8:00 and 8:09 this morning, so when it went off for the third time at 8:18, I said "fuck me" and crawled out of bed. Rule of thumb: when the first word of the morning is an expletive, it does not bode well for the rest of the day. On the way to class I noticed I had put on different sandals, one brown, one black, as I dressed by the light of... well, darkness, and sleep deprivation. Got to crim on time, managed to open my eyes soon after, and aced the pop quiz I had predicted. Found out that we would in fact be having our test on Thursday of next week, when I won't be here, and rescheduled to the Thursday after that. Sweet. The prof, Nicky, is incredibly nice, and much too chipper for our early morning classes. She's cool though; I'm like, "and the make-up exam is essay, right?" And she says, "Well, it's supposed to be..." but then she would have to make a new test, and then read the damn thing, and I'm thinking, "I'm the champion of the world!" One class down, only four more to go.

i give good direction.
