Well, that was unexpected.
I'm heading back to my room after checking my mail, when I see Jodi, one of my floormates. We chat. She asks what I'm doing tonight, if I've had dinner. When I say I have nothing going on, she invites me to join in on some sushi making with her and her friend Chrissana. I consider it and agree. The sushi wasn't exactly a success; the seaweed got crushed, so the rolls wouldn't stay together and we made a MESS, the avocado wasn't ripe, they unsuccessfully tried to substitute teriyaki sauce for soy, and imitation crab has never been my favorite. But we had a good time making it. A couple of other girls from the floor were in the lounge studying for a Man's Food test and periodically adding to the fun, and while Jodi sometimes has an alarming tendency to human cheesiness, the vanilla-ness was offset by the goofiness, which abounded. Then while we cleaned up, I got to explain the history and holiday of Passover to Chrissana. I'm like a walking PSA.
Now in the aftermath of that atypical burst of social behavior, I find myself at loose ends. Lots to do but no starting point, and no desire to read or tackle homework or shower or sleep. If all else fails there're always QAF forum postings to read and quotes to troll for.
