I'm impressed with your fic hoarding :o) I really do want to start saving fic more regularly (I always regret when I find a dead link), but I'm alzo extremely lazy. I saw the other comments about using webmail, and the idea is growing on me (sidenote: Hotmail also allows you to search content of e-mails). I guess the only issue with e-mail is that it's another online format, and the only other time I ever wish I saved fic is when I can't get online.
The issue of "quality" is such a loaded one, and overrated. You are very right, and yet I've felt in the past that the fear of what others would think of me reading and liking certain fics kept me from owning to them publicly. It's still true. I understand you find much of your fic via delicious? I don't read as much fic as I used to, and what I read usually (98% of the time) comes to me via my subscriptions - either directly posted fic or recs. So since I don't use delicious myself I haven't really considered that others might also benefit from me tagging/bookmarking fic.

Lots of stuff for experimentation and thought!
