This is TOTALLY of interest, thanks for commenting!

one of the things I hate about my current system is that I have folders labelled 'put it in delicious' on at least two computers, but some days I have the oomph to either save the file, or bookmark, but not both. Which invariably means that the story I'm looking for is in one of those files, and searching delicious doesn't help.

Ugh, I know that feeling. I eventually had to make a hard and fast rule for myself that I couldn't a) close a browser tab containing a story I wanted to save before I'd saved it, b) save a fic without bookmarking it, or c) bookmark a fic without saving it (that is, a fic that I had read; I have a separate, dedicated delicious account for fic I mean to read later). Sometimes I do this immediately after reading a story, but I often have a lot of browser tabs open at a time (at the height of my interest in a big and active fandom? a hundred tabs, easy), and for a long time, before I gather the time and energy to sweep through and close them, either singly or in large batches.

Re: the curse of multiple unsynchronized locations, [personal profile] sally_maria upthread has good things to say about Dropbox, perhaps that could be at least a partial solution for you?

Also, I use diigo for the exporting qualities (I can get the tags, which I haven't worked out how to do with delicious), and the two synch somehow [I have issues with diigo, because I work in a mac environment].

I work on a mac also, and I've heard good things about diigo in general; can you tell me more about the issues you've had with it?
